View Full Version : Brick aspect ratio off compared to surface values

I have a tile surface going in a scene (actually, used the brick procedural). In the scale fields, the horizontal measure is twice that of the vertical.

I had to make two surfaces...one for walls that run along X, one for those that run along Z...in my surface, the tiles should be twice as long as high, but they render to more like 3 times as long as high, plus, not all my grout is the same width...the vertical grout is too wide every other joint.

Do I need to make more knife cuts along my wall? Are the surfaces stretching themselves from edge to edge?

I think the bricks are longer than they are tall to begin with... :)

I would switch to an image map anyway, more control and consistency, and it's the only way to get realism if that's what you want. DV Garage has a great tutorial on bricks -
