View Full Version : UV map render problem

Whenever I use UV textures to map art onto a surface, the art often renders blurry or with streaks. The same art will render fine if I use any of the other projection methods (Planar, Cylindrical, Spherical, etc.), but sometimes you've gotta use UV.

I've attached a sample... the streaks and blurs do not correspond to the polygon edges.

Does this happen to other people? It occurs on both my old G4 and my new G5. I certainly appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
-Dan

Can you post what the wireframe looks like on this?

Here is the wireframe. Basic cylinder primitive. Mapped image is a TGA.

Thanks

How about the UV texture window with the cylinder selected and the texture in the background?

... the streaks and blurs do not correspond to the polygon edges.

but i bet they do correspond to the position of the UV map, nigel had a good suggestion.
heres a good place to get a grip on UV mapping:

hope this helps.
