View Full Version : relative path to texture image

I've been working with Lightwave models in computer games and have made a program that parses .lwo files and displays the models using OpenGL (details irrelevant).
The problem is LightWave seems to, by default, save absolute paths to texture images. To be able to use the files as they are I have to store the texture image in the exact same directory on any computer I try to run the game on.
Anyway, I was wondering if there was a way to have LightWave save a path to the tex-image that is relative to where the .lwo file is. That way I'd only need to have them in the same places relative to each other but not in the absolute same directory that they were originally saved in.
So ... can LightWave do this or will I have to do it myself?

Hmm, LightWave usually stores the path relative to the content- directory, so if you point your conetent- directory to the directory your object is in then place all the textures there too, reapply all the textures and save the object, you should get relative pathes...
