A very nice move, to balance the PC market's DFX+ bundle special. Same as we complain about the bad, we should applaud the good - and that seems like a really good move. Well done NewTek.

Now be prepared to hear "ah, we want this bundle for the PC, too" and stuff like that, hehe :p

This is a great deal for LW Mac people. But just wait, all the Mac people that ordered the DFX + upgrade will be coming out of the woodwork to complain. :p Nice gesture Newtek! :thumbsup

Great news, so what are the "participating regions" me as a European likes to know ?

NewTek Europe is participating...but it is always a good idea to contact your local reseller to double check.

"This special offer is available through March 21, 2004, in North America and from participating international distributors for NewTek."

Q1 is the end of March 2004, right?

(digg'n out of the woodwork) ...yes, yes... what about the mac people who ordered the upgrade when there was no option for us?

The Lightwave 8 / Realviz deal is brilliant!!!

Realviz Stitcher allows you to create your own 3D spherical panoramas from your photographs. Every Lightwave user could benefit from panorama software like this. Imagine, a whole photographic backdrop for your 3D models.

It's also exelent for creating images that can be used for radiosity and reflections.

I think it is a great move on NewTeks part. :)

Isn't this the same thing that Worley's "Enviro (http://www.worley.com/polk/polk_enviro.html)" plug-in does (Polk collection)?

I just got word that New Magic, they will be offerring the Realviz/LW8 Bundle for OZ users, upgrade price is the same as before AUS$899

I should've be a poker player, I knew if I held out, I'd come away with a great deal. :)

Many thanks to the Newtek Team, your efforts are much appreciated.

Looks good Hervé.

How long would it take to put together a model like that?

(Wish I hadn't upgraded so early now - these Realviz tools look pretty useful.)

Hervé

it took me about 3--4 hours... I know it's a bit long but you end up with a perfectly textured object that looks there... I just hope for more modelling tools in version4 to come in a few months.... he he...

Thanks for your kind comments....
