Hi Proton,

Could you please give us some demos or talks about these announced rendering features:

"Rendering Enhancements:

LWSN log file for debugging renders

Expanded command list in LWSN for third party render controllers

Render speed enhancements

Direct Show Flexible Point: allows users to view Flexible Point images in Internet Explorer.

OpenEXR file format support"

Thx in advance.

P.S.: Could you please also give us a dead line for the LW8 release?

i'm not sure rendering improvements can be shown in a demo but i'd love to heard some info from Nt about that...how many %? on what? any AA filters? Distributed render? Netwrk surface baking? LWSN improvement? you know, all that...
thanks-

I need more speed for my archi rendering... :o

Ahh, yeahh! I want ultra-fast flicker-free high quality radiosity.
Who doesn´t?:D

CB_3D, do you mean ala Vray?

Oh yes, something similar to Vray would be like dreams came true!

i'd laugh if proton posted a 1 hour video showing the render progress window.

I actually think that LW renders look just as good (if not better) as vrays. We are just lacking the Caching Options vray has, not the render quality.

Just as it was always was a mistery to me why cached radiosity solutions can´t be saved and reloaded with a scene, or even as an external file. Just imagine, save out various illumination models for a scene (you could render these solutions over night) and later you´d have them available for fast renders.

"Rendering enhancement" doesn't do it justice. Rendering solution seems more like it.

It seems to be just something to preview reflexion quickly, not to enhance speed for the final render...

Pixym I have constantly asked the same question many times to Proton and NT... Ive come to the conclusion there arent many enhancments worth showing off, unless u are an animator.

www.worley.com has somehting exciting. Maybe in LW8.5 we get some archi love.

I want to see:

Hardware shader support
Better cache radiosity solutiions
SSS features

More SMPT for plugins.

can a moderator please remove the above spamming advert from this conversation and also look at that member as he/she has been posting the same thing all over the place...quite irritating!
and somewhat off topic to boot.
