Hi! I've got a silly question. It's silly for experienced graphic artists but I'm not an artist - I'm a begginer. My question is : for what is alpha channel & how to use it? Thanx in advance

An alpha channel is a mask for your image which you can use to composite the image with something else. Basically, if you lay your image with the alpha over another image, where the alpha is white your image will be, and where it is black, the other image will show through.

Cave, in simple non-techy terms, the alpha is the transparent area around an image.
i.e. if you have a logo you want to put over video, you'll need to have an alpha layer behind the logo so you can key it without using a luma key.
That's another lesson. ;)

I don't know if this helps, but it's really a simple principle once you use it.
