View Full Version : Using Surface Baker with Simbiont LW7 ?

Hi there !

Does someone know of a way to get the Simbiont Shader working with Surface Baker ?
I read in the guide to Simbiont that the position in the shader stack is important, I tried two combinations (below/above Baker), didn't work.
There is something baked out, its not usable though...

Thanks !

I don't personally know. I do know that their technical support is top notch. Give them a call and they will tell you what you need to know. If they don't know the answer right off they will call you back after doing some research.

I have used DarkTree Shaders with Baker several time with no glitches. What exactly is the error? Some prerequisites:
Surfaces and U/V maps should be "paired", in other words do not have a surface on more than one UV map. UV maps are required; Atlas projection, in this case, is best. I can't think of anything else, it's been a while since I last did this, but I'll post again if I think of anything else.

I had a problem once and there is a switch somewhere in the simbiont optoins panel turn off darktree shading.

If you own Darktree you can bake the textures in Darktree instead of LW.

Baking simbiont procedurals in LW hasn't ever posed a problem for me though.

here two shots to illustrate what happens:

Let's see a screenshot of the UV map.

ATLAS Uv map...I also played with the camera near/far numerics with no success...

Longshot but have you tried unwelding it and baking?

Nope, will try it, will also try to see if it looks different when I triple it...
