Can anyone explain why caustics and radiosity flicker during animation?

Is it possible reasonably soon that non-flickering caustics and radiosity for animation will come about?

Do hollywood productions calling for CGI simply not use caustics and radiosity for this reason?

LW has quite always a solution...
but not for Caustics flicker (or at least I'm not been able to find a solution right now).
