In general, I had about 2 or 3 days to work on each model, building them from scratch based on prototype casting photos. It's an interesting exersize...

Hi-
Are they low poly or high poly models?

High poly. Ironically, the little human d00ds have 3x to 4x the polycount of the 'mechs...

I am jealous.. I purchased lightwave last year and I havnt been in it more then probably 20 hours total .. how long did it take get this far.. 1 year 2 years 2 months? this is the kind of work I want to do and I really need to be at this level as soon as possible.

did you go to school or self taught?

More time you work with LW and more become capable. Personally I am self taught and I used VHS, DVD, tutorial on some magazines of CG, and books in English (I'm Italian and unfortunately there is not a lot of translation). For example this model realized it after 5 months that used LW (was the version 6.0), with which realized an animation.;)

Mmmmmm, GP04.... very nice.

I've been using LW since '96 (go go version 4!), and am pretty much self-taught. Most of my experience has been with realtime game stuff, so doing these high-poly models has been an interesting challenge. It's too bad I can't show off what I just finished until summer; it's a lot better than these ;)
