View Full Version : Vertex Map Problems

I posted this on CGTalk with little response, hopefully I can get this resolved here.

I have an object with 60+ layers and 10+ vmaps, everything was working swimmingly. For some reason, I created a new vmap for a new shape, and it doesn't show up in GL or in any renders. I cannot create a new vmap and have it show up anywhere. Not in this scene file, not in new scene files, nothing. The exsiting vmaps all seem to work great, are still editable, and render well.

This particular one I have will show up in GL if I have another layer with intersecting geometry visible:

Any thoughts?

BTW, I'm on an 867G4, 1GB RAM, 64mb Geforce3, OSX 10.2.4

[edit] I should mention that this problem happened in 7.5b. I have since reinstalled 7.5 from CD, but the problems persist.

Hi Michael,

Are you saying that you simply can't create a vertex colour map at all anymore? The things I'd check are that you've got the correct vertex colour map checked in the Advanced tab of Surface Editor and, maybe, try to remove one of the colour maps you have applied to your object. I noticed that in the test object you attached each point has two colour maps assigned - are you absolutely sure you've selected the correct one in the Surface Editor? Does it work if you remove the 'redundant' colour map from the same points?

I just tried deleting one of them: no luck.

Deleted both and made a new vmap: no luck.

Regardless of what I do, I cannot see new vmaps. I can create them, but they never show up on objects in OpenGL or renders.

Very perplexing.
