Hey I was just surfing the web and came across this site with some of digital renders that look hand painted. Does anyone know how this is achieved? Is it something that can be done through LW when rendering, or done in post production via PhotoShop? :shrug: Thanks for any info.

If you are doing still images then photoshop would be your best solution to achieve a painterly effect. You might want to render out in separate passes and it might be worth looking at lightwaves PSD exporter (there is a tutorial for it in the DFX tutorials here on newteks site) I don't have a link but you should find it OK. Look on Flay.com for image plugins like and I think one is called "sketcher" which lets you render sketchlike images funnily enough. Also look at LW's post process image filters (chapter 14 lw manual) I always think that a blend of techniques is the best. Don't forget texturing as a way of getting the "look".

As Paul said correctly, its easiest done in your imageeditor. But of course you can do that in Lightwave too, here are two tutorials :
