This message goes out to all the fence sitters.
This party is a chance to meet greet and mingle with all the
Toaster people on this board and else where.
Folks from everywhere will be there. I have met Pro animators,
directors, owners of dealerships, contacts abroad they all come.
If you hang and read these forums or you know someone who
loves video. Ya GOTTA go to this party. Its a User party.
A place to be. A happening. And what makes it so special?
YOU ALL DO.
You are the people doing it and not saying it.
Making art, delivering art and making deals or trying to
hang in and learn.
Indepedants with a mission to deliver!.
So scrape yourself away from your work long
enough to celebrate and have one blow out with your
fellow peers.
Thats why ya gotta be there. So drive if you
gotta. Take a bus plane train whatever it takes
and bring your eyes so you can see the candy,
your stories you can share and your
ears so you can hear our stories.

Pass to the show should be available through Newtek
(if they have a booth) as well as Post magazine etc.
They are available everywhere as the show gets closer.
I get them cause I went last year.

Isn't the Hard Rock right across the street?

"accroding to nab.org you can get rooms at circus circus for 57 bucks a night if you reserve by march 12th "

...just a word of warning...if the reservation at Circus Circus says you'll be staying in one of their MANOR ROOMS, be warned that these are NOT your typical VEGAS ROOMS you find in the towers at CIRCUS CIRCUS.

I got a deal on one of these rooms last year (I think $89) for NAB and was a bit disappointed for the price. PLEASE...don't get me wrong...a hotel is a hotel and I've stayed in some of the worst over the years - but don't get your hopes up being that it's at a casino. These rooms were the quality of a Super 8 and not even connected to the hotel. They were in a separate area of the back parking lot where the motorhomes park. They were 3 story, free-standing structures and the rooms were pretty nasty - with creepy clown color thrown in to make them part of the hotel. Sheets did not feel clean and it smelled musty.

I know you didn't come to Vegas to spend all day in a hotel room, but I just wanted to give you-all a heads up.

I know in previous years, I have gotten pretty good deals at other places - especially Excalibur. I got $59 rooms there - typical vegas rooms - nice and clean - AND during NAB. Unfortuntaley my reservation connection has left there, but who knows - you might find something decent if you have time to shop around.

Again...if making reservations at Circus Circus...and you get a MANOR ROOM...realize it is a Super 8 with CLOWNS!!

...just looking out for the VT community...

for what it's worth...

There is an Embassy Suites just across the street from the Hard Rock - have stayed there many times.

Hmmm.... I thought it was closer than that. Is it closer to the Sahara?

It's a bit further away from downtown than the one where Wayne Newton hangs .. what's that called?

I like the corner of the MGM, Tropicana, Excalibur & New York because of the skywalk between them all. You can also catch the tram to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay from the skywalk.

It's great because you can move around if the action isn't what you want, without getting a cab or making an entire night at one spot.
Any more you gotta walk about 1/2 mile to get from one casino's door to the next except for this intersection.

Excalibur isn't too bad for the price.

hows the tropicana?

Not too bad, pretty affordable. I stayed there a few years ago. A little old, and rooms were "musky", but things change really fast in Vegas.
My favorite gambling has been at the Tropicana and Excalibur. Last year I paid for about $4,000.00 in new toys with my winnings from those two casinos!:p
Mostly at the Craps table.

FYI if any of you "HAD" a room booked at the Castaway Hotel, you will need to find a new one as of 2pm yesterday 1/29/04 they closed for good. No notice or anything, from the news they said security went door to door of the guest and told them they had until 5 pm to vacate the property...
