I have a small background in 3d programs and can make some objects that look decent, nothing great by any means though. Im trying to become good at LW and i'm looking for someone to help me and give me possable solutions/ideas to my problems or creations. Looking for someone who is interested in kind of partnering up and getting me caught up and trying to make money for our skills and objects we create or do something with LW. Not sure if this is a stupid thought or not, but I was just wondering and wanted to see who may be interested.

Thanks for your time.

CoMetX,

No, it's not stupid.
It might help if you list what your interest in 3D is. Like what do you want to do? Games? Animation? Printwork? And what genre are you interested in? Toy story kind of stuff? More dark and gritty? Sci-Fi?

Hah :) Im interested in any type/style of modeling. Does not matter what i model, i just enjoy creating objects. And, to have another person who wants to do the same thing and help eachotha along the way, would be great. Not sure if anyone is interested or not... But, figured i would give it a try :\ Thanks for yea time

You have come to the right place! Just post your work ask for comments in the works in progress gallery. If you have a question post it in the general posts area. I think the Lightwave community is a lot like a team. So team up the the community and in no time you will be answering questions for those just starting out.

Also, I don't know where you're located, but if you want real "face time" with other LWers, see if there's a LW User Group near you.

How would you go about finding local lightwave groups? I am very new with all this, and I can use all the help I can get. If there is a Lightwave group in my area I would love to join. But, I don't have the slightest idea as to how to find one.

Right here on the forum is a section dedicated to User Group News... you can ask there.

http://vbulletin.newtek.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=74

also check out http://members.shaw.ca/lightwavetutorials/

and enter the main menu. Near the bottom right is a User Groups link. Not sure if they have anything in your area. You can also check with local LW dealers, since if there is a User Group near by, dealers are often aware of it, or even host them sometimes (like the one here in Toronto).

Of course, if you can't find anything in your area, you could consider starting one, as long as you can get a space located for it. :)

Good luck.

Hi CoMetX, you've come to the right place. Just stick around and you'll get lots of great tech advice, crit work, handy tips, links etc. Plus you get access to a whole range of users that specialise in different areas. Also check the LW section at CGtalk.com, a lots of us hang out there as well.
