View Full Version : a new kind of LW release...

I'm used to crazy buzz-worthy names coming out of Newtek's press releases leading up to a major LW upgrade. Where are the MetaNurbs, LuxiGons, and HyperPoopies of the 8.0 release? C'mon, give us at least a NanoGoober or a CyberDoobie.

Oh, wait... I'll bet Brad took his copy of "CG Marketing Speak for Dummies" with him when he left...

We can only hope ...

I thought it was "first Q 2003"?

They are trying to get the nanogoobers out of 9 right now.
They seem to go directly to a point in 4 point polys and replicate themselves there.
Soon you have a 4 sided poly with thousands of points, all in 1 corner, giving organic objects some sort of cancerious looking growth.

They are even worse than HyperPoopies, as HyperPoopies go along the edges of polys and leave little dots along the edges.:)
So thier replication is easy to spot.

Good to hear that. We'll have to get together to smoke a few CyberDoobies and discuss...

I thought HyperPoopies went across the middle of a poly, leaving a streak of points in their wake?

This tied in with the new TouchingCloth system will take dynamic texturing to a new level.

What happened to the new plugin architecture for that whole suite of meta no-nos?

They would save a lot of time, and I really need SelfSoil2 for a project I've promised a client.

Oh well, guess I'll have to do it the old fashioned way.

So will be run HyperPoopies first, then open up the smoke panel and then select bake HyperDoobies to selction?

I bet with the new LW 8 point selections well be able to select HyperPoopies in Layout!

That is the reason for the delay. They could not come up with any new trendy words.

I just hope the PolyWannaCrackers don't render as non-planars when I paint the Hyperpoopies along the edges of my objects.

Well, so far, its IK Booster for one.

You can laugh all you want, guys, but I happen to know that HyperPoopies are very useful for modeling Labradoodles (http://www.abc.net.au/creaturefeatures/facts/labradoodles.htm).

put aside the HyperPoopies and Labradoodles cuz nothing beats the wonders off Cel-er-fellars. Just look at what kinda results you can get with them things...

Now that is the best render of a one-hundred-year old Diana Ross I have ever seen.

I reminds me a bit of Michael Jackson, but looks to good to be him...
