I'm looking for a program to work with wav and mp3 files to remove rumble, 60hz, and other stuff from recorded files. I've checked download.com, but most of that crap comes with adware hidden in it.

Free is good, but I don't mind picking up something at CompUSA either.

I haven't used Audition since it was Cool Edit but it was pretty good then. I think you can download a 30 day trial from Adobe and decide if you like it. I know that Sound Forge 7 is $399 and you can also download a 30 day fully functioning trial version of it. Both should be able to do what you want.
