just something i did to practice compositing - three rendering passes, the last one just for shadows (one day i hope to have actual people to put in my renders).

I did not see any chickens in the pic the link led me to?
And could not figure out what you composited in the image?
What i saw was a futuristic crossroad?
Its not fare- i was looking forward to a chicken render!
:(
out well...life is full of little disappointments..

Is the hover cars that are playing chicken?
Is this for a futuristic KFC ad?

compositing - i couldn't get the nice highlights i wanted for the vehicle in the intersection with my original lighting setup. also, the hard shadows looked like crap, so i rendered the first pass with that vehicle set to unseen by camera, and cast shadows turned off for everything. the second pass was just for rendering the vehicle with the alternate lighting setup, using the first render loaded as a background image. for the third pass (to get the soft shadows), i front projected the second render onto blacked-out copies of all the objects in the scene. hope that made sense.

sorry about the lack of poultry - should have called it 'playing chicken'.

Ou, all right-

but next time be more carefull- I bet you 95% of people clicking on the thread are rubbing their hands chanting "chicken, chicken":)
- Now that is bound to be trouble if instead of chicken the get futuristic cars and a crossroad-

anyways:), nice pic-

Very nice picture, not very nice vision you have about the future...
I want trees in my future!
And , most important, chickens!
Why donīt you make a chicken and add it to your image?

lone,

I hope you won't get offended. I just added some chickens to the image so that everyone is happy.

Re: the image
The image looks futuristic. All the reflections make it a little hard to see what is going on. The style brings "Tron" to my mind.
