Has anyone run across a decent tutorial for modeling a photorealistic dog?

This tutorial is not Lightwave specific it is geared towards an older version of Softimage|XSI however it can be followed in LightWave given you have decent knowledge of modeler.

I'm a budding newbie with LW, but know enough to be dangerous. :)

I'll give this a shot.

Thanks for posting!

Check a very good LW book - "Essential Lightwave" by Timothy Albee. He has a tute there on a wolf, err Alsatian :)

Hey, Stef--

That's a great idea; I'd like to buy it, but wonder if I'll be buying old information. I know the modelling techniques will probably still apply, but the rest of it could be outdated with the release of 8. I wonder if he's working on a new version...

Hello,

I'm just finishing up work on a dog model.
Have a look at progress from a few months back:
http://www.dedicateddigital.com/projects/index.htm

Quite a bit more has been done on it since these renderings. I'll be able to show more details about it when the model is ready to put up on the site.

Perhaps wait until this version comes out, if you have the time:

Great work! How did you get started? Did you find a tute somewhere or are you naturally gifted? :)

I can wait; thanks for pointing it out!
