Just discovered that Newtek has a deal for Lightwave owners for VideoToaster.....(I tried to find it again now, but I can't seem to locate it on NT-site), where you could get VT without LightWave Express.
LightWave express used to have a plugin called FX Monkey that won't run on the ordinary version of LightWave...has this been changed since you now can get Video Toaster WITHOUT that special version of LightWave?

edit: Found the offer at the bottom of this page (VT[3] Graphics System: Video Edition for 3D Artists): http://www.newtek.com/eyeon/index.html

To my knowledge FX Monkey will not be in LightWave 8

" plugin called FX Monkey "

If I'm not mistaken FX Monkey is actually hardcoded into LW Express which is probably why it isn't something easy to move over.

I'm pretty sure it was a plugin (fxmonkey.p), but with some parts hardcoded into LightWave Express...
I wonder how hard it would be to convert it to LW8 since it mostly generated scene files from premade motions.
Even a standalone would be cool.

FX Monkey is from what I've been able to squeeze out of a friend of mine, a plugin that makes basic logo animations by a few mouseclicks.
Heres a few images he sent me:

I've never used it myself, but I'm a sucker for new toys...:D

Well it looks like it relies heavily on the Toaster hardware for it's effects. Any of that can be done with full lightwave. It may just take a little more work.
