This was from a school project.. ( I thinks my teacher likes dungens, 3 more projects like this 1) My first real project.. been useing light wave now fo a couple of months..

Well, it's good work on a urn, but the lighting is all washed out and flat, and the textures on the walls is very low resouluton.
If it's for a game engine, then good work, but if it's lightwave render only, then get some higher res textures, try http://www.mayang.com (here) for example, some very high rez free textures for walls, and wood etc.

are you using Ambient Intensity to handle secondary shading???

All this really does is raise the diffuse of the surfaces, the effect of which makes colours looks washed out and flat, as already commented upon.

You could try some area lights coming in from either side of the scene, which when used properly can porudce some very realistic shading - even if it does up the render times a fair amount (still quicker than radiosity).

If you get artifacts then you could maybe scale down the area lights and use two coming in from either direction (as they produce the best results when used with a small scale)...or you could try upping the anti-alisaing.
