I've been a member of the LW community since 1.0, an active contributor to Dave Warner's LW listserver years ago, and, well... I remember modeling stuff with a text editor for Videoscape 3d. I've been a registered Newtek customer since DigiPaint. 'Newbie'? I don't think so...

cheers!

I think after a certain post count, you'll be able to change your title to whatever you want. :)

If you are feeling like your authority is diminished by people laughing at your Newbie title, you have two choices...

1. Go red in the face, and learn to live with the Newbie title whilst trying to avoid getting a newbie complex.

2. Change it in your preferences to something else.

'super member'. Now that's a tiltle that commands respect! And where have I been the last 14 years? Working! Actually, I wasn't quite sure where everyone went after Dave Warner shut down his listserver.

Yes, I'm on Polar Express now, but I switch to Open Season in a week or so. Should be a fun project.

Cheers, and it's good to be back!

'Noodle salad', indeed!

Not to be a downer, but you can change that Newbie title in your preferences Polar dude...

Isn't open season being done here in oregon?

jamesl

you can't change it until you've made a certain number of posts.

And, no... Open Season isn't being done in Oregon.

James, Dave Warner's list is still running, it's just on Yahoo now .. and I thought your name was Jamie ... maybe it's just my bad memory.

The LW mailing list ain't been the same since it moved from Mr Warners own server onto Yahoo.
Perhaps it's that it got split in 2, or perhaps many of the old timers have moved on....

I'll still have the memories though (someone cleverer than I should point out that should be "mammories", in some witty way ofcourse...)

Jamie Loyd :)
I remember you, you were working for Dreamworks once with Yiotis, that was in 1997 if I am not mistaken.

What happened and you guys left ?

jamesl
01-10-2004, 10:40 PM
...but you can call me 'james' ;)

Yeah, i remember when Dave's list moved, and I joined it for a while. But it lost something in the translation, didn't it?

Yiotis left DW long before I did! I still talk to him once in a while. In fact, I should give him a call...

cheers,
