which tint you like the best...?

01-09-2004, 06:42 AM
The texturing is great. Especially the 'fuzz' on the twine . saslite?

01-09-2004, 06:43 AM
thanks, nope sas full, but i am sure one could do it with sas lite

Cool pic! Nice texturing on the apples and the ropes. I like the top one better...hope the painting will look as good as the render!:D

wow thats a really awesome image, so original. The second one brings out the apples a lot more, but the first one is not as much contrast if you are going to have it covering an entire wall.

I like :)

I agree, that's really neat!

I like the second one better myself. As Dave nz pointed out it really brings out the colors in the apples more, which I like. Overall I think it just has a nicer look to it.

Nice. Bottom one.

I love this work, Herve, to the point that it inspired me to dabble and make my own (imperfect) apple. It is a simple 24 poly SD-ed form and texturing does not have a bump map. I am curious how you modelled and textured yours. Perhaps you can enlighten me as I found it a perfect learning project. Thanks a lot

Ok OK I'll post some screen shots..... a bit later (as I have sooo much late stuff to do today...

01-14-2004, 12:00 AM
That will be great, thanks....

check these links out, also by Herve. Might help you with your apples!

sorry about the double post, I was trying to refresh, here's a pic with Hervé's textures, it makes such a big differance, thanks again.

Hervé you do great work,

Really nice apples. How are you going to reproduce them in paint,
as a screen?

01-14-2004, 11:39 PM
he he, no screen... in fact my wife is a rather good artist painter..... I'll post also her WIP in a few days....

IF someone wants I can send an apple.lwo, they have Hypersmooth plugin applied to the skin, but I think it works even if you dont own the license, U just cant modify the settings.

So may I take your order...? (hurry up while it's free

I'll come back in two hours.... and post some...

Dear Herve,

I shall be delighted to try your delicious apple. Give me that polished one please...
But seriously, if you could also send me presets to study will be really great. I am downloading your pics that Art was kind enough to point out link to in his post. Many, many thanks.
I am using this time to get ready for 8 and to raise my skill level. This will help.

I'd be happy to get a copy of your apple(s). 1kg should be enough.

Great work Herve! I honestly can't choose between the two tints though!

I like the warmth of the first but also the contrast of the second! I guess either then, they're equally as good!

here you go.....

Hypersmooth from Evasion for the reflections
X_dof (also from Evasion)
Sasquatsch Full (for the small hairy cord...)

and I joined an hdr, but because it is commercial , I had to resize it half the real size. Attention..... radiosity Monte-Carlo, Intensive, but price for realism... (well kind of... he he)

Enjoy. Hervé

how do U post a zip file.... hum it looked it was loading but then ... nothing appeared....

I checked the infos it says 4,6 MB for apples.zip.... that should be ok..? No?

here it says attach file max 5 242880 bytes...

Dunno, if someone knows....

Very nice. I love the DOF in that last one. Also between the first two I like the first one better. I like the warm feel to it. Great work.:)
