I am having trouble with the Indeo Codec 4.5:

After using VT3 for editing, the video is rendered and placed in a Director production. This codec works well in all machines excluding some windows 95' and windows 98' machines where I lose sound.

Any recomendations as to an alternative Codec or the optimal Codec for both compression and ease of playback on a Windows based machine?

In addition what is the optimal audio compression to use with the above codec.

Thanks

DV Video codec maybe?
Might be a little bigger than you're looking for, but clean picture and playback just about anywhere.

Thanks Jim,

However I am attempting to render these videos in a 360 x 240 format for a CD production and there is over 30 minutes of video along with a full director production.

Any other ideas?

Go DV Video first then use either TMPGEnc to encode that file to an mpeg or Windows Media Encoder to convert to .wmv.

If you use TMPGEnc you can actually import the VT-Edit project file itself and not have to render first.
