just wondering if there's a way to move things incrementally in modeler or layout without using the numeric panel or mouse- like in after effects you can use the keyboard arrows to move things pixel by pixel, but the mouse doesn't give you so much control.

Modeler on a PC use Alt and arrow keys, on a mac it should be Option/arrow keys.

I really wish there was consistancy between modeler and layout, I don't know if there is a way to move things with the keyboard in layout...

If you want to create your own commands to assign to the keyboard for layout it's really easy to do. Just open LScript Commander and add the following two lines to move the selected object in the positive x direction-

MoveTool
AddPosition 0.001000 0.000000 0.000000

(You can change the value to a higher or lower one to suit your needs)

Click Install and give the command a name, Lightwave automatically creates a plugin that you can you can assign a key to.

Repeat the process for the other axes. For example, negative x would be-

MoveTool
AddPosition -0.001000 0.000000 0.000000
