View Full Version : Bone Rotaton Problem

I've got a problem with the head bone in a skeleton I made.

With the bone pointing forwards, the heading( red circle) is not folloing the line of the bone, so when I change its rotation the bone just spins around in its socket (the same as what happens when rotating the blue circle). This, of course makes it imposible to turn the head from side to side.

How do I fix this?

That's Gimbal lock, rotate the pivot point then hit 'r' to re-rest the bone.

Bones deformation can be really tricky, this is where you need to save a new scene before making adjustments. Also, when you've done something that seems to work, clear the scene and re-load it to make sure. I've had rigs explode ater re-loading them because of something I did that seemed to work.
