Hi Guys, Iím in the market for a new mouse for Lightwave. Been really looking at the Logitech G502 Hero. Just wondering what you guys think before dropping my money.

been using the original 502 since its release, brilliant mouse, completely eliminates rsi, the quick access profiles are great for things like LW, will work on glass or anything, you can still buy the g502 proteus for half the price and its identical apart from a slightly lower top dpi of 12,000 but ive never gone above about 5000 otherwise they can become a little twitchy with precision apps, so I would save half your money and just pick up the older one (still new though)

If price is no issue I'd recommend Roccat LEADR, fantastic mouse and i've programmed all of it's buttons for modeler tools/plugins/render modes specifically and it has auto switching profiles so whenever i change focus to windows/browser my buttons are different shortcuts and when I'm back in modeler they change it's behavior/profile.

Trouble is I’m on a 12 core Mac destop. Fought they support Mac.

Uhh then yes that is a problem :(.

The Mac only needed one button for such a long time, it's too much to expect it to support a mouse with upwards of three now ;)

I have a mac and always used Razer products. I've had the DeathAdder for more than 3 years and still works great.

The 502 is great. I have it at home. And bought a 402 for work (similar form factor, less expensive).
I also purchased a Razer Naga Trinity (swappable side panel with different number of buttons) to try. It's wider than the Logitech. It's different, but I got used to it within a couple hours.

I don't know if the Razer works with Mac, but if it does, you can program no less than 12 buttons just on the thumb alone. I tried that with RizomUV, and it's GREAT! :)
