There're a bunch of new state of the art Libraries that I feel strongly that LW, if they get the resources, should be supporting.
For example:
Alembic is supported now in 2019.

Bullet has been supported for a while, but it was recently updated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullet_(software)

Tell us what libraries you would like to see?

I think Bullet was changed last year to 2.88. Not at 3.0 which was to support multi-threading. Think the creator is focusing on pybullet.

In the long run, I think USD and MaterialX support will become important. It was rumored that Maya would have support for one or both in the most recent release, but that didn't materialize. These are by no means widely adopted yet. I'd like to see the industry move away from the proprietary .fbx in the long run as a common medium of exchange for scene info.

Of course there's OpenSubdiv:
I know at one point they were looking at OpenSubdiv, but it's not clear the LW team has any intention of upgrading/updating their SubD support...

OpenCL for multithreaded and gpu processing. Vulkan as a viewport/realtime renderer.
