I think it is just add several plugins....and a little optimization...

Any docs to prove speed increase in rendering or other aspects? Or Main Bug Fixes?

Y don't just make it like plugins that downloadable, or bonus pack?

Or wait and make a "Great" change in next Generation LW8?

I want something "Fresh!"

well considering that it's a free download you don't lose out anything. I've pasted from the readme that comes with the update:

Summary of new features:

New plugin in Plugins/Utility - dvview.p: DV View provides a new view option on the Render Options panel, preview render out of a firewire port to a DV device.

New plugin in the Plugins/Animate folder - Splinamate.p: Animate an object in Layout with a spline control. Great for hoses, tentacles, etc. SplineControl does not have a button on the interface by default - you can add the button using the Edit Menus option under the Layout button.

New plugin in the Plugins/Utility folder - Flare2Alpha.p: now a plugin instead of an lscript - greatly improves speed.

New option on Surface Editor Shader Tab - SurfMixer: Shader that allows the blending of two existing surfaces. Blending can be controlled with keyframe envelopes and texture maps.

ScreamerNet for Linux - a render node for use on Linux OS systems. Installation and operation is the same as on other platforms.

New Gradient mode, "Surface Thickness", useful for control of translucency and other elements for which you need to simulate subsurface characteristics.

there are issues that are coming up with lscript 2.6... hopefully there will be patch sometime soon.

LScript 2.6 has significant behavioral changes that will require many pre-existing scripts to be updated in order to work under the new interpreter and compiler. These changes will also require some relearning by LScripters used to the previous ways things worked, but the advancement in user power is well worth the changes.

The new docs on LScript 2.6, which detail the changes in behavior as well as the new commands and functions, are supposed to be on the Developer page, but I note the web team does not have them posted yet. I'm sure they'll get to that shortly, and in the meantime, Bob Hood has put them up on LightWave Outpost:

I might also add that, except for nVidia driver, it might always be best to upgrade to the latest revision just to avoid "stupid" questions concerning bugs that have already been eliminated.

On the Mac, all the renders are WAY brighter with 7.5b. Is this just the Mac version?
