I thought this was a really great tool to handle UV unwrapping models. Looks like a great companion program for lightwavers!!

sure to come in handy for pesky unwrapping jobs.

someone on facebook i think oliver posted that they will give a license away for people who make tuts for them. =)

here is oliver's post -

Hey Everyone,

My friends at RizomUV have decided to reward people that do tutorials for Rizom with a ******FREE***** license. If you are interested, they are looking for Tutorials, ranging from beginners to expert.
IF you dont know what rizomUV is, you are simply missing out and should check it out. If you are ever needing to do UV's, its the software to use. https://www.rizom-lab.com

Its a great way to get a great companion tool to lightwave for free.

The process is you just request an eval license.. get familiar with it, do a tutorial based on their guidelines (which Cirstyn will explain to you if you contact her.)
The areas they are specifically looking in are: Organics, Architecture and hard edge.
Cirstyns contact is [email protected]

I'd be also grateful if you show the ODTools Rizom <-> LW Bridge in the process :)
For those of you unfamiliar of the bridge, here's a nice video showing its use with Lightwave:

If you are interested, also tell them I told you about this

As soon as I shake the medical bills and leave of absence, I'm adding Rizom to the toolkit. I tried it (using the demo) and OD tools, and going back and forth was simple. The Pelt map it produced was nice and clean.

Oliver "exposed' his ODTools users to RizomUV a few months ago and it was quite amazing them. But, so many refinements & additions have been made in that time that it's hard to keep up. So new and in a collected spot for new tuts are very much needed. The Video link in the UI takes you to what was essentially the beta or alpha perhaps of Rizom but newer features are a bit harder to find unless you dig back through the Discord page.

What I'm waiting for now are the new tools Oliver teased with a few weeks back that can really clean up imported geometry & do a select by poly normal. Imagine combining cleaned up models with powerful, very controllable UV mapping. He's holding off releasing until the new tools version it's sounding like though.

those new tools will be in ODTools 2019. I am working on a few things currently, and then you'll probably see an official announcement.

As for videos about Rizom... do checkout my ODRoot. you'll find quite a lot of tutorials for rizom, especially chris's (digital meat), which are amazing... www.odroot.com
