View Full Version : Raytracing transparency - disfunctionality

For the general public's knowledge:

I discovered today that the Surface Opacity setting for alpha does not respect raytraced transparency. Alpha - Surface Opacity can "see" transparency changes, but cannot when Raytrace Transparency is checked in the Render Options.

This through me off track for hours this evening, as it goes against my working methodology, and it was only by accident I discovered to uncheck Raytrace Transparency. I always thought ravtrace transparency needed to be checked, but I guess not. Fortunately, my scene did not require shadows, but if it did, I can imagine this being a big problem.
