Changes in Apple's new Mojave OS have affected the display of some icons in the LightWave 3DŽ UI. We have a hot-fix for LightWaveŽ 2018:

I'm running 11.6.3 and having this issue with Mojave. Will this hot fix work for me and where can I download it? It does not appear on my user panel.

Thanks!

Ooof. This is terrible news. Are my old files 11.6 compatible with the 2019 upgrade? I have ongoing projects that require pre-existing scene files and objects.

Thanks,
Matt

If you have upgraded to Mojave, anything before LW2018 will be problematic (i.e. visual issues).
Only LW2018 and later work ok in Mojave.

If you upgrade to LW2019, you will have to re-setup all surfaces on your objects for PBR.

If you need access to old format (pre-2018) LW files you will need High Sierra.

Windows OS is another option. Each LW user is licensed to jump between Mac OS and Windows OS. Windows is more "steady". I can still run LW7 on modern Windows and hardware. If I wanted to run it on Mac, I'd have to go back to an old PPC system boxed up in my garage.
