Hello. I have been struggling trying to get directly in lightwave a view like this one (a section view) :142690 . Any clue? many thanks in advance :)

Just play around with focal length and the distance the camera is from the building. You will need the camera to be farther away and zoom in on it.

I'm talking about the cutting plane that shows the building interior.

I may be misunderstanding what you're after, but it looks like from the screen capture you posted that SketchUp has the ability to slide a plane across the geometry and clip it to invisibility, creating a cross-section of the building.

Attached is a LW2015 sample scene which uses a Null (called DissolveNull) to move a Clip map across the building.

142701 142702

142703 Null fixed in place, model rotated

MOV file: 142700

The basic idea is to set up a Clip map Texture which is a Gradient based upon the Z-distance to the Null. The geometry is then clipped within a certain distance to the Null. Here is the setup:

142704 Clip Map is a Gradient, Z Distance to Object, DissolveNull as the Object

The Edges of various sorts are enabled on the object to outline it, and the Edge's Opacity & Taper is also controlled by a node network which calculates the distance from the World Position of the building to the Dissolve Null, also using a Gradient Scalar Layer to set the Opacity of the various Edge types:

142705 Edges enabled, negative value means "meters" (e.g. -0.05 = 5cm), Node network to reduce opacity & taper

Have fun!

Yes, that is precisely what I need. Thank you very much!!

??? Wouldn't simply projecting a clip map "thru and thru", and moving it by having a reference null, accomplish the same thing?

For an infinitely deep projection, the clip map could be as small as 2 pixels.
