View Full Version : LW 2018 Just upgraded from 2015 image mapped ground poly black in Layout view

I just upgraded to 2018 from 2015. Loaded scene consisting of one large ground polygon with aerial photo image mapped onto it and a bunch of building structures objects. In 2015 layout top down view ground poly displays with image map. In 2018 layout the ground poly shows up black with no image visible. No change to the object or texture. When I view it in 2018 Modeler the top down viewport set to texture shows the image just fine.

What am I doing wrong or not doing in 2018 layout?

Change the light to an environmental light, add a textured background and see how that looks. The differences for lights, nodes, texturing and such is allot. There are some baseic setup 2018 videos by Andrew Comb on YT i recommend you watch those.

Welcome to the learning curve.

Or just turn on the headlight. It's non-rendering openGL light that is in the little carrot dropdown in each viewport. It was part of 2015 too but now with physically correct lights with falloff some stuff like that won't be illuminated.
