View Full Version : Superhero in Finish...

12-30-2003, 02:53 AM
Let me post my last version of my Superhero. Original image was 6500*10000 pixels

Skinned in LW, posed in motionbuilder. Rendered with Radiosity MC Bounce 2.

I know that there are many faults, but the client asked for it. If this will be finalized, I`m gonna make a "director`s cut", which will show my vision at all.

Thanks for all comments.

Gotta ask though - what's the logo? At first look it appears to almost read S.O.B. to me...

NIce try...I think it`s SI03 but I don`t know what does that mean...

Very very cool !!

Reminds me a little of Daredevil / The Flash.

He`s got some real nutcracker thighs too :)

Excellent work.

Hey J3st, Do you care to share how you did the wrinkles on the boots. it looks like bump map after seeing your wireframe.:D

01-03-2004, 12:46 AM
Yes, it`s bump map, but I had to edit it in the final (6500*10000) render, because it was very jaggy. Anyway, I`m experimenting with zbrush demo, and in the future I plan to use zbrush for detailing. But it requires a damn good displacment mapping technology in LW. I ought to model those wrinkles, but it wasn`t decided at that stage, that his boot has to be wrinkled, or smooth.

Excellent super hero character....Flash tm and Daredevil tm( two of my childhood favorite comic book characters ) like, as for the plasma energy discharges, have you developed a form that can be super-imposed on a character, as we are developing a 10 Super Hero personalitizes, based on our Comic books we are about to release, as I like your style, how is it in animation /stage mode rendering?.....we used avatarware ( Blaxxun Group, Germany ) and MYA to do quick render and our animation before we mastered the wire-frame, and put it to animation ( video production ) two characters can be found at

Hand drawn first...the old fashion way

This character is fully poseable, and animatable. Although the current rig is optimized for static print jobs. That means that the character can be posed easily, but some areas require adjustment via modelling tool. A more complex setup would be necessary for animation, or comic-strips. I was thinking to move him to maya, but I suppose that LW8 will be ideal for this type of setup.

Great..Maya, is better, as most of the industry will soon switch to LinuX/Java and "OpenGL", ( as we are using for our production now ) development as SGI has with it's new Linux box..the product of your fellow countryman...Torvald...from Finland !!

( By the way, Guys, the letters on the super hero I believe is Finnish, not ASCII English !!!!! )

We have just finished our "Open Source" Anvil to Forge...and will soon post HOLIX~C (Hm) as an new distribution of POSIX complaintcy...as required..and will release our "source codes and library" for said OS in about the end of this month or during the middle of next month as our target date changes because of project development delays.....

P.S.,after I passed him into our HOLO~Portal Viewer ( our HOLO~Graphic ( Hm) glasses, he shifted to our maximum depth of field, as he has red suit, but blue is missing, which our HOLO~Specs (Hm) ( aLIeN eYeS (Hm) use to produce maximized depth, but they still look great, unbelievable )glasses use if you would like to develop Video gaming character bodies and masks for us ...we may want to employ you if you are availiable as I have employed your fellow Finnish countryman, Arto Hytenon ( he was our Amiga 16 processor MMP board designer and Engineer, as I had our corporation in Finland, Zeal ( an exclusive Amiga R & D corporation ), now shut-down, sad to say..sorry....

Thanx...You Do Great Work!!!!!...RAB :)

The colours, expressions, pose and background don't really say 'super hero' to me, more 'super villain'!

Very menacing!

Finns and Russians are wrestler types, as masks represent, mystery, covertness, etc., and "bad guys" behave in such, as the "Black Momba" a world Crime boss in our upcoming "BLADE}{WINGER (Hm) does....it also could be the gap in the teeth, a common nordic trait, that may be presuading you of your perception....

Your "Illuminatti Girl" fighter, and countryman, Lara Croft, "Tomb Raider" tm, uses an open behavior, as a crime fighter type, but uses a bull whip, and guns to accomplish her goals, by your logic then she must be some sort of "Bull/Lesbian Dominatrix Witch" ( and the "Little lady" sure aint that, Angelina Jole, what a girl and a looker!!!!!! and smart too!!!!, BOBBY, BILLY JOE THORTON, you are and idiot, period!!!!!! ) ......... :(

So please, in the future, gretique in a more incouraging matter the peoples' work on our NEWTEK chatroom, as it looks bad to the rest that critisim is to possble discourage instead of promoting and incouraging our flegling modellers..... :)

Just a suggestion from one who works with young artist every day, music and graphics ( I am an old user, just re-registered, knew Tim, the creator years ago, been out of touch, military/SBIR ( NASA ) contracts... my HOLO~Toaster remark!!! in my intro and bio ) .....RAB ;)

Er... O... K...

I think the work is great, flawless infact! Just also makes me think bad evil things as oppose to good nice things, or dominatrix lesbian things...

Cool Dude!!!!!sorry for being so aggressive, no flame intended...its his background, looking like Hell itself....apocalyptic I guess, as his client wanted this as he stated.....maybe he need to try to change his boss's idea, or maybe not....job preservation, "AS he who talks over his boss, losses his job" Confusian says!!!!!!!

01-21-2004, 01:44 PM
Yes, sure he has some villain-look. But client is client. BY the way, Wolverine doesn`t look as a positive hero, does he? He is on of my favourites.
