In my opinion LWCAD is already priced really well for what it offers. I guess this might generate some more interest in the product and maybe there are some users out there who would only use a handfull of LWCAD tools so the full price might be a bit much for them unless they can get a discount.

Didnít realise ver 2018 was out......:)
Will have to upgrade (have had lwcad for years, upgrade each version, worth every penny)

is this also good for upgrades from previous version?

I checked out the page at Liberty3D and it seems only brand new customers only otherwise I'd be in as well. last version I bought was 2.1 I think....

but it could be possible that a new version bought in the group buy is cheaper than the upgrade !

it depends on how much participants are in.

maybe you ask directly at liberty (kat)

I think 2.1 wouldn't qualify for upgrade pricing anyway, so you'll have to buy new.

Oh i wish Kelly would do one for Octane or DeepFX then i would be in. I have LWCad 2018. If you dont have it I would get it, this is the way LightWave modeler should work.

Indeed, i missed the first TFD one as i did not need it at the time, but jumped on the last one. The more we support these guys the more developers will support us i think.

From what I have read, I think 50% is the biggest discount.
This is the same amount for my upgrade from version 5.

Not concerned about this, as it is possibly the best value (most used) plugin I have bought.

Hello kats.
The group buy-in is off to a great start and already into the double digits for discount for % off the current list price.
As always these things only work out to the best they can if the greatest amount of people participate follow through. So please share and participate if you need to get in on this.

But I assume I would still not be considered a new customer as I've bought a previous version or am I being too literal about this? Maybe Kat can confirm?

Yep too literal. :) You can upgrade as far back as LWCad 4. Anything prior you'll basically be a new customer. That's due to the fact that LWCad has a pro-rated upgrade structure. $175 to upgrade from v5 and $259 from v4, so it's logical that the next upgrade price is the current full price of $349. In your case this buy-in discount would be the best way to save a few bucks off the best plugin for LW.

As Tim says, you could in essence (depending on how many participants there are) get a full license for the same price as the cheapest upgrade (v5).

Greetings. OK we have had some good sign up numbers thus far. I would still like to see us hit the max discount number though. So if you are going to get in on this, don't delay. The cut off date is July 30th at 12:01AM PST.
So you basically have to say you are in by then or you are not on the list. Follow the instructions here. http://www.liberty3d.com/2018/07/new-group-buy-in-lwcad-for-lightwave3d/

Hi Kat,
Is the cut off date July 29th or 30th?
You last post here says it's 30th but the info at liberty3D says it's 29th.

Edit: OK now I understand. Its midnight of 29th but here you just made it more specific to be 12.01am of July 30th

I know I should be asking Viktor but since it is the weekend and the cut off date is almost here I hope to get a quick answer here.
I am currently on LW10.1, if I buy-in to LWCAD now and I only upgrade to LW2018 much later or maybe even LW2019, would I still be able to use the LWCAD 2018 from this buy-in?

Once you buy, I understand you can get the activation code before having to install the software first.

You are given a LWCAD account and can get the activation code from that (you will need your LW Prouct Lock code and the serial number of the LWCAD purchase, then the activation code can be generated in your account). That code can then be inputted offline when you do install LWCAD with your LW upgrade.
https://sites.google.com/site/wtools3d/lwcad-5-0/1-installation/2-activation/2-activation-version-5-5-and-higher

(That's my understanding anyway, anyone else chime in). :)

Hi Astrocom, I asked this of Viktor already. Backwards compatibility is from 9.6+ going forward to LW 2018 with LWCAD 2018. So if you are still on LW 10.1 you are good.

If you want in, you have to email my [email protected] liberty3d.com address (makes it easier for me to keep track rather than my other [email protected] address).
You must put your name in on the list with my reply being the verification by 12:01AM PST July 30th.

Thanks for the responses but I think my question was misunderstood. I checked and understood that LWCad will run on 10.1.
I mean after installing and running LWCAD with 10.1 and say I upgrade directly from 10.1 to LW2019 (skipping LW2018 since I had already missed the one-time $299 offer), I assume LW2019 would detect LWCAD 2018 automatically and it will just work in the newly installed LW2019 (to make the assumption easier, let's say LWCAD 2018 works in LW2019 and up to then there is no new LWCAD upgrade versions)?

Unless there are any architectural changes that would prevent this from working I would assume you would be able to use LWCAD 2018 in LightWave 2019 (god I hate the yearly naming convention!)

If I tell people before hand they group buy in concept doesn't work and people get pissed off if that price isn't meet so its an "assume no discount" (even though there will be, its already very significant).

You have 5h28m to get in.
