Thanks Proton. I really appreciate seeing some more vids and screengrabs of 8 since we won't be getting it before the years up. I really can't wait to see 8 in action on my own computer.

You got the subject title right, that's for sure! Here's a guy
that spent his christmas feeding us bits and pieces of info on
a 3D software package. And for little other reason than he
thought it was important to some of us! I wouldn't have. I
would-da put you all on hold from like Dec 22nd through Jan 3rd
and made ya all eat cookies with Santa.

This is not to mention his daily dedication demonstrated by
constantly being cool and not giving up even when faced with
what lately seems like a constant barrage of negativity and
discontent orchestrated and instigated by few turkeys with
issues. :) I'm way glad we've got Proton (Notorp) and not
some typical business jock! Kewlness is cool and it's way cool
when it's in a place that can make a difference! Proton!

why would he care about that?
he doesnt cash anyones check
he is there to promote lightwave thru community involvement
if i were him i could careless if nobody liked lightwave i would just keep chugging along as does he
if he lets what someone says affect him then he is in the wrong line of work
and im guess a "few turkeys with issues" are also paying customers and deserve as you do to have their concerns be heard whether or not you think they are valid concerns or not

Well just as a human being yeah? We are affected by other
people wheather we like it or not. It's part of the human
condition. It's not really escapable.

Wow pretty cold outlook there. So you're saying that Proton isn't
cool? That he's just a bot? Without feeling? And without care
or love in his heart? Man! You've got me crying for the dude.
What a miserable cold and lonely life he must have. Curdish
survivers have it better.

Only thing is, I happen to know better!

Actually I'd be willing to bet that the same "turkeys" that complain
and ***** here about what LW can't do and bash it endlessly do
not in fact have a valid license. And BTW, just FYI having a valid
lic. does NOT under any reasonable interpritation entitle said user
to participate in this discussion group nor get cool sneak previews
of the upcomming releases, nor have your questions answered if
and when you have one, nor not much of anything really beyond
the right to use the software and even that is subject to condition.

The way I read the lic. agreement they totally have the right to
revoke your lic. if you badmouth them or the product. But they
usually don't and they do all the things that I just mentioned
above, that you have no actual rights to, for you. For free! From
the kindness of thier hearts!

I'm under the impression that it's part of being a man to
recognize and credit those people who are cool to you.

Didn't your mother teach you to say thinkyou?

Tess you're right.

PROTON ROCKS. :D :D :D :D

Don't let the nickpickers bother you.

The vast majority of us really appreciate you taking time out of your holiday to post demos. That was way beyond the call of duty.

Most companies wouldn't do that.

Cheers,
JS

I'm sure you'd love it if people never complained about Lightwave's shortcomings, but the fact is that legitimate customers can and do complain about Lightwave. Learn to accept the criticism for what it is instead of assuming an irrational defensive stance, calling people turkeys and pirates.

The way I read the lic. agreement they totally have the right to revoke your lic. if you badmouth them or the product. You must be reading a different license agreement than the one I have here in front of me. I see no such ridiculous restrictions on my copy of the license. Would you care to quote the section you think prohibits people from badmouthing Newtek and/or Lightwave?

Frankly, one of the things I like best about Lightwave is the relatively friendly license. Unlike Maya, there are no audits, no limits on resale, and no restrictions on moving the software away from the site where the software was originally installed.

Didn't your mother teach you to say thinkyou?I wish more people would adopt "think, you" as their mantra.

I must say that after having watched the IK/Character animation vid, im totally blowen off. The best part imo is that is seem to be very fast compared to current ik solving.

The dynamics (everything about it) are also really awsome. LW 8 is looking to be one hell of an upgrade.

Job well done, NT - and thanks to William for showing off with these vids :)

Oh come on,

Positive vibes people :)

This chap wakes up Christmas morning, opens pressies with the missus and the dog, then goes to work on a movie for the whole of the LW community for no other reason than it's christmas.

Above and beyond the call of duty, in fact, the last time I saw somthing like this was in a Kapra movie. :)

I am amazed that, a threat such as this could even turn into a debate.

Kudos for the great vids uploaded, Mr. Vaughn.

Now, Proton is cool, but not nearly as cool as letīs say Al Leong. Sprocket from Fraggle Rock was also way cooler.

no ur affected by others
i dont let pples that are having a bad day ruin my day but i guess you (and others like you) do
being strong against these so called "turkeys" doesnt mean that one is a "bot" but if thats the way you are looking at it then i guess thats the world you live in
and you dont know squat about how many pple have paid for lightwave or not and it wouldnt make any difference to lightwaves future if those "turkeys" didnt have a lic or not
if they are still right about what needs to be fixed they are still right, paid or unpaid

"Didn't your mother teach you to say thinkyou?"
well i see ur going to be like u were in the cgtalk forum when Howard was raising certian concerns, you were even saying how his work should be better like you would know the first thing about anyones work and how to properly crit it....
personal attacks are the real basis of ur arguments arent they?
you always bring it to a personal level when you cant think of anything real to say, isnt that right?
