So, I attempted to rig up my latest character, and this happened...

I've tried redoing the rig, redoing the weight maps, refreshing the configs. I haven't been able to get anything to work.

I tried doing a test by making a rig of some simple boxes and it worked fine, but this character refuses to cooperate.

looks like you either miss those points in the weight maps, or those are also assigned to other maps of the mesh. Hard to judge from a png

Guess I'll just have to keep toying with it, thanks though.

Actually, here's a download for the LWO file, if anyone feels like taking a look. This version is from before I did any of the weight maps. But no matter what it always ends up doing that effect in layout shown above, no matter now I weight it.

It's happening because of the vertex normal maps on your model. Select all surfaces of your object and choose none for the vertex normal maps.

UPDATE: I'm not sure what's happening but the first time I tried your file I got the same results you did. Then I opened the model set the vertex normals for all the surfaces to none, I also deleted the vertex normal maps. This fixed the issue you were having. Here is the funny thing, I deleted the model and re-downloaded it again. Without doing anything to your model file I tried converting skelegons and it worked perfectly this time. Very strange. The first time I did this I got the same results you were having. Now no matter what I do it's working perfectly I can't get it to mess up anymore even using your same model.

Hope this helps

Thanks,
Jason

File a bug report using Feedback Agent and submit that LWO as content demonstrating the problem.
