Imagine you've made a "cylinder" with only 3 sides.
Then, you select the 3 long edges and Chamfer them slightly.
Now you sorta got a Toblerone box. (http://us.toblerone.com/Our-Products/Bars/TOBLERONE%20White%20Chocolate)
Then you Select 3 of the main faces of the box, and MAKE a UV map.

I was surprised when I did this that the chamfered areas were included in the UV map. Why is that so? They aren't selected.

Even though only 2 polys are selected at map creation time, 3 polys are included in the UV map. WUWT?

Create a simple box, select 2 opposite sides and it's the same. It looks like if all the points in the selected polys happen to be the points of another poly, this poly also gets included in the map.

Just un-weld it before you UV it.

OK, I got that same effect on various test LWOs last night, and will follow your advice. Tnx.

Now: is this a bug? Never mind that it's easy to rectify, should it be happening at all?
