That's exactly what I thought - my browser window was showing the picture cut off just below the eyes. The bottom half of the face isn't Jackson though. The eyes and hair (just about) are Jackson.

Great modelling.

hello
Not he/she is not Michael J, this girl is my wife there is there is ha ha ah:)
As much as to hair, they are some rectangles with a texture map, and another in channel alpha.
if you want to see the mesh, you tell it to me.

The model is really great. the comparisons with Jackson come because of the very pale colouring and the very dark hair (many people have suggested Jackson's hair is in the style of Elizabeth Taylor). Oh and those incredible eyes.

I hope your wife isn't offended.

Thank you

hello
here I send you a screen capture so that you see the wireframe shade.

the rest everything is texture.

pierre...

Are you familar with edge loops and spin quads? I think that your mesh will come alive with them.

Hello Will
Thank you for your example, I work with spin quad but I don't know edge loops,
to case it is a lightwave tool it seems to be fantastic.

Sadly `Edge Loops` is not a miracle LW tool, but using them is a procedure, or a modeling philosophy! It is where one makes the flow of poly edges smooth and continuous with the form of the model, not suddenly going at tangents to the contours. It improves the look of the model and usually cuts down the poly count; and the polys behave better in animations too.

This thread talks about them:-

http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=102&highlight=edge+loop

and this tutorial shows the theory in action:-

Cheers,

R

ha ha ha I already understand it
in this image that I have made quickly
if that have used the spin quad, modeling for my it is not a
problem and starting from now I will try to use this way of
to model and this philosophy, is better.

Thank you Friends

Hello friends
here you have the face, completely new,
using the edges tools and Spin quad, I only have left it
to profile a little but.

Woa looks like you saved a LOT of polygons in the second version...
i think it wouldn't harm to grab the chain- err bandsaw and refine the model a bit.
Eyebrow area and checks mainly. Perhaps nose...but looks good!

The problem with most beginners is, the subjects that they choose for re-creating in 3d. Why donīt you start with everyday objects? Most classic artists start with still natures, simple things... Everything have an evolution, and most wannabe artists should start with "less stress" subjects.

Pierre,

I knew when I saw what you were doing with standard modeling techniques, that the edge loops/spin quads approach would help you! The new face looks better than the old one, and with less geometry to boot!

Great work...

Go, do other things...
