View Full Version : I see spots

This is a test render of a ship torn apart near a deep ocean hole. All procedurals, mostly IFW2 (best damn texturing plugin, highly underrated). From time to time I see these strange colored spots appear. Not sure if it's the ship model or the procedural textures. When I remove the ship from scene it goes away. Not sure if this is a firefly I read about on this forum or something else. Anyone deal with this before?

BTW the particles you see are supposed to be there. Underwater plankton. My reference is the colored spot on the ship's hull.

I like that your render looks as if the view is from a submersible vehicle.

I think that spot means you are changing to the next reel of film.:cool:

The fireflies thing would be in 2018, and they don't look like that. I'm guessing you are rendering in 2015 or before since you are using IFW2. Couldn't tell you what that spot is, but maybe try turning off different layers one at a time to isolate which model or effect is causing it, and go from there.

You know I thought I got rid of them but will check it out. I have several versions of that model. Thanks for the advice.

Wing zeta LOL thanks. My end goal is to make it a feature animation. I am using 2015. Been experimenting with IFW2 on 2018 trial version. Not sure if I am going to upgrade yet. However, 2018 has some really nice updates.
