Hi forum,

I'd like to make an image-based displacement in the displacement Nodes. Using that place for all displacement types makes it easier to save out templates, etc.

Here's my setup:

It works with procedurals just fine, however if I change the Scalar Layer from procedural to image, the object just grows a bit uniformly. Changing projection between spherical and UV makes no difference, it just seems to read the image as a fixed value.
Are my nodes wrong?

procedurals are 32bit for a start what was your image output at 8,16 or 32, also is it in the correct game space is it linear, other than that take the layers value beyond 100% or add a scaler node

Thanks Gerry,

I tried using a bump layer and replace the original texture with a 32b EXR including alpha. Nothing changed though. Swapping between sRGB and linear only alters the uniform growth of the sphere.

This is the new setup, still not working.

All the textures worked fine using the Normal Displacement plugin, however that is not a node.
