View Full Version : Looking for a loft/bridge plugin with accurate point connecting control...

I have two n-gons, each a different shape but with the exact point count (no overlapping points either and points spread out nicely). They are evenly facing themselves on the X axis.

To bridge these polygons, I use the Bridge tool or the Bezier Bridge tool in case things end up twisted when I use the Bridge tool and vice versa. I have to do a whole bunch of these bridged polygons and some of them can get quite complex.

I'm looking for a bridging plugin that allows you to pick one point from each N-gon as a reference so that they can bridge they way that I want.

Does anyone know of a plugin that allows for this?

I'm not looking for a workaround because I gotta do about 70 or so of these. A plugin would be easier.

If anyone knows of such a plugin then please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Lwcad has one.
I do believe there is something available natively, too.

See "Create Skin" section.

Edit: misread. This offers no accurate point connecting control.

Not sure if it fits the bill ..and if it is available in 64 bit..not at the computer now.
Cm loft ..see Lightwave plugins day as base.

Yes, I did try CM loft but I think it's not for N-gons with lots of points. Basically, every time I tired to use it, it crashed LW. Oh, and I am using LW9.6 for this project as LW2018 still doesn't have all the plugins I need for the process.

I did notice that if I took some of the N-gons, killed the polygons and manually selected the points from a common starting point, that Bezier Bridge would do a much better job of getting the accurate alignment than just normal Bridge. I still have to use Band Glue because it results in two segments/loops of bridged polygons but that's just a trifling step that doesn't bother me.
