Thanks for the info, DarkChief !
Not sure I would have put a graphic card as the first visual of the product, but if it's bundled with it, that's a really good deal :D
More seriously, I see the cost of a full license but can't find the cost of an upgrade from v1.

Upgrades are $150.0

LW 2018 is supported. Did you install the dll's, and install the redistributable?

There's a 80,000 particle limit, had to reintroduce that limitation in the demo, sorry.

Well done!
Hmmmm.... Could i suggest you to play your testing videos at double the speed?
At current speed, something looks wrong and it is not as sexy as it may be.
It's only my opinion and i don't wan't to be rude or demotivate you.

Or change the music. I can't watch this without hearing Blue Danube. :)

I was wondering if people would be interested in a short in-depth intro training series for Deep Rising v2.0?

I was wondering if people would be interested in a short in-depth intro training series for Deep Rising v2.0?

The key reason I forked out $$ for Substance Painter was the detailed product overview they made available. In the case of SP it was for free, part of their marketing strategy, very professional and very product focused, no "Um, ahh". That level of commitment to the product sold me.

You may wish to charge for your training material - no probs. If you do a good job, it should effectively inspire an end user to "make magic" with your tool as well as enhance sales ...

Just my thoughts

Very nice.

Yes to the training series. You might get more sales out of it too. I'm one of those people that likes to see how something works first (and how it integrates with the host software... LW2015/2018 in this case).

How long does it take to get the ‘stub’ and ‘License.deepfx’ files after purchasing and downloading the software? I'm still waiting for mine ...

Got 'em. Works great ... Tutorial series would be good, but the plugin doesn't seem too hard to learn ...

After I got my Deep Rising plugin, I did some work for a shot I needed to get out the door. It worked great!

So I made a tutorial for Deep Rising 2.0 here:

Hope it will help others beginning with Deep Rising!

Yes a Mac version would be peachy, and I left several comments on the Deep FX website over the course of this last year. So I just decided if I really needed it I’d have to get the Windows version. I’m already running LightWave under BootCamp (using Windows 10) because of a handful of PC only plugins. Although I prefer working on OSX, sometimes that’s not practical.

If you watch the last part of the afore-linked tutorial, you’ll see I do all the finishing on OSX. That might be a little consolation …

Thanks for taking the time to make the wonderful videos. I noticed a few things that didn't work properly. They can all be easily fixed of course. I will be posting a training series in the near future. I've noticed there isn't a set workflow yet, here's another test for example. The experience is smoother for some.

A complete training series will help people adopt the plugin more rapidly. So I hope you can do that ASAP.

My own tutorial was simply to try and fill the void between version 1 and version 2 of Deep Rising. Ryan Roye does an admirable job of covering version 1, and much of what he covers in his tutorial is still useful, but it is no longer adequate for Deep Rising as it exists in version 2.

Anyway since I have your attention, darkChief, I'll put in another plugin for a Mac version (but I won't hold my breath)!

Hi Folks.

I've installed the Deep Rising FX demo and I can't get it working. I have placed he DLL's into the required folder in Lightwave, added the plugins into Lightwave, and I can load the test scenes, but I don't see any fluid particles in the scenes and I don't seem to have a DeepFX tab at the top of the interface. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

You will not get a menu in the demo, there's only three buttons. Domain, Solvers and Meshing. If they do not appear, they are easy to add.

How many plugins where installed when you installed the .p file?

If you can share screen shots, would be easier to help.

I think when I added the first P plugin I got two added, and the second one added nine, if I can recall correctly. Here is a screenshot of what I see in Lightwave when I load the Basic test scene.

Okay, first thing to do if you haven't already done so is setup the menus. They are easy to find, I have included an image below. Just type DR in the search and you will see a list of plugins starting with DR (there will be less in the demo). Add the plugins listed in the next image to a menu. After that to simulate or see anything in the viewport select DR Solvers. A panel will appear (and a cache will automatically be included). Press the simulate button. After the simulation finishes, you can scrub the timeline to view the sim.

I've included links to a playlist on youtube that has the introductory course to get you started.
