It looks like MS is adding an Ultimate performance mode in their new beta that eliminates the microlatencies that persist even in high performance mode and delivers... well... ultimate performance.
Only in Windows 10 Pro for Workstations apparently.

I will see how much performance I get with that before doing any type of upgrades.

I didn't even realize Windows 10 Pro for Workstations existed.
...and it's actually affordable!

The source Windows Blog ( https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2018/02/14/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-17101-fast-build-17604-skip-ahead/ ) indicates this is a policy/power scheme, which is just a preset for manual/custom configuration.

Also note that this new "feature" appears below the announcement about emojis.

Yeah, seeing as it only works on "Win 10 Pro for Workstations" i.e. a version of windows that only comes with pre-built PCs from high-end makers.
