This years Create Expo 2018 will be on Thursday 21st June. www.wnc.ac.uk

Steve Clarke will be giving a talk about the Lightwave 3D work he does in films.
Steve is a visual effects ar��st who has worked on
over 57 TV movies so far including Sci-Fi, Family films and
Horror. His preferred programs are Lightwave and Afer Effects
and has been with them since prety much the start. He is an
all-rounder from modelling, ligh��ng, anima��on and composi��ng
and says he enjoys that because he gets frustrated doing one thing
all the time!

Also Matthew Knott from Versus about the 3D animation work in Lightwave he does.
Matt Knott is a partner at Versus, a design and
animaton studio based in London. Since 2010 Versus have
worked on creatve projects across different media, but have a
particular focus on moon design for tv/broadcast. They have
worked with clients such as Nickelodeon, Disney, BT, MTV,
Burberry and Five.

Should be 'motion' design, though I guess we could specialize on moons. ;)

I don't think any listing for Expo is live yet. What is the venue please (since several locations are listed on the website) ?

The Create Expo 2018 will be at Vision West Nottinghamshire College Derby Road Mansfield NG18 5BH. Tickets will be available in March. More guest speakers will be added soon.

I considered a career in Moon design, but was told by an insider that there's not much call for it anymore.

It's getting the craters right... lots of tweaking. Explosions help.

There is the occasional call, but it's once in a blue moon...

I agree.

If I recall correctly, the film Braveheart employed many moon specialists for the beginning of a battle scene.

There doesn't seem to be any information available at the link you have posted, not even in the 'evenings and events' section. Last year there was plenty to read on the event site, https://www.create-expo.co.uk/, including how to book tickets :)
