the spot info node is missing in lightwave 2018, but if you have 2015 you can create a node with the spot info , and then you can import the node in lighwtave 2018, it seems to work well..if you want for example desaturate your radiosity ray

the spot info node is missing in lightwave 2018,

That's why I made Global Input node.
It's available in TrueArt's Global Materials 2018
http://globalmaterials.trueart.eu
and in TrueArt's Node Library 2018
http://nodelibrary.trueart.eu

LW 2015.3 has completely different structure used by nodes than LW 2018.x..

but can be imported from 2015

It can be imported, but it does not work as expected.. See example screen-shots:

Global Materials 2018 has Global Input node, which has exactly the same outputs as built-in Input node:

140097
(the only difference is in name of node, and it's located in TrueArt's Node Library in node tree hierarchy)

ok but what about the object spot, for instance used with the nearest point? (object spot into nearest point, into a gradient, into color channel) I tried all the new output but none seems to work... how can we replace the object spot?

... how can we replace the object spot?

Object Spot is 'Object Position',
Local Coordinates of the evaluated spot,
against 'World Position' which is the spot location in World Coordinates.

Denis.

ok, thank you Denis.
I tried again and realize that the distance in my gradient was too large, I got the proper result with closest point eventually. I though the missing spot info was the problem...
