How is it possible that we're not all rendering the Falcon Heavy launch with the new volumetrics? Such a momentous smoke extravaganza.

and I was expecting those roaming swedish jet fighters that in the 80īs used to fly over our houses, but yeah..there was a saab viggen car as well.:D

the new volumetrics may still be inferior to smoke fluids, especially with dynamic motion in mind, though it now has the capacity for a different shading with asymmetry and scattering, as well as the new black body radiator for some nice heat gradients...

Congrats shrox, I remember this one, amazing what other none 3d topics can do if it is aimed at larger audience rather than the narrow 3d nerd audience, so donīt forget to tag all your 3d animations with cat, cats..I think there may be some folks searching for that.
Your vid also reminded me of the old heavy metal movie, also with a car out there in space.

Wow. Was any of that from the thread I started the other day specifically mentioning you & your Heavy Metal Landing piece? The thread itself only got a few replies.

Do we have that many users here registrated? hardly..and that is not likely case, think about youtube ads and tags instead, and the buzz the heavy falcon made, and thus also adding additional "you may be interested by this" pointing to other clips related to space and cars in space.

Edit..you said Any, and sure...a few users perhaps, I may have misinterpreted your comment as was most of that from your thread.

Excellent! Awesome that you included the windshield wiper sequence (and mentioned Riggs).

It's interesting that your avatar and the concept for the video were both cooked up by Dan O'Bannon.

There's a comment mentioning that the video was posted three years to the day before the Heavy (Metal) Falcon launch. What if Elon Musk set the launch date based on this video? Or it could just be a coincidence...

If you don't have 1000 subscribers, you don't qualify to get any revenue.
If you have not accumulated 4000 hours of viewings in the last 12 months, you don't qualify to get any revenue either.

I never really entered any vids to make profit myself, so I donīt put up ads or anything..nor expecting anything, so..
is new since when? and differs from previous policy in what way?..if you know and can answer quickly, just curious to know..if you donīt, it really doesnīt matter though.

It's new since mid-January.
Before that, all you needed to get revenue were 10,000 views.

Great job! I was blown away that Elon launched his personal Roadster into space mimicking the Heave Metal opening. This has always been one of my favorite movie openings and you nailed it.

Good to hear. This is the same reason why neither my domain nor my YouTube channel is monetized.

You know you've made it when the flat-earthers start writing "fake" in the comments section. :D

Yeah..nevermind my suggestion, I donīt like ads myself, neither while watching other vids, neither do I put up any ads myself on something I want to showcase and instruct on.

Shrox,

How long did it take to produce, model/animate and render that animation, from beginning to end? Also, what other software did you use, if any?

Thanks!

It took about two months I think. All done in Lightwave and put together in Primere.
