I was working on a project last month.
I just finished it. I enter in the new version of LW-2018.0.1 and open the scene that I made in 2015.3, without any change. When I open the scene, Layout told me it's an old version ... And save a copy of this scene, I said No.

These are the results.

In LW 2015.3, the rendering time was 30m53s. In a computer with 16 Gigas in ram and 8 cores.

In LW 2018.0.1, the rendering time was 38m40s. In a computer with 32 Gigas in ram and 12 cores.

I feel that I am in other software package, not in an Update of LW-2015.3.
And I am thinking the models that I made in the last 12 years, wont be useful in LW-2018, unless I change all the materials manualy in each model even the most little.

Thanks..

You're in an entirely different renderer, that much is true. There are new ways of doing things, and yes, old assets will need updating in most instances.

You can start here to get an idea of what's going on...

there are also a few threads here n so on.

If you don't mind me saying, the 2018 version looks to have better potential. If all you did is load and render you should be really excited. That means with some tweaking you'll have a really great render instead of an OK render. :)

Thanks Snosrap.
Yes, I only loaded and rendered.
I saw that this new version (2018) has a lot of potential with the new features.
I must to study a lot these new things.

By the way, I'm working on lightwave since version 8
