We have lots of objects in the OBJ format. When we take them into Lightwave the scale is off. The objects are just way too big. It seems to be the loader isn't asking what units are used in the model. When we take it into another 3-D program like Moto it asks what you are using and the objects loaded appropriately. Where can I specify the units so I can get them to load in without resizing them

Press 'o' to open General Options,
OBJ tab,
OBJ Import Scale..

I made plugin TrueOBJImport, it allows even reading custom OBJ file format extensions with color vertex maps (MeshLab & ZBrush).

Of some strange reason the obj options is in the options panel? I think its a design flaw as no other format has its settings there. Fbx has a popup window when loading or saving but not obj. I’ve reported it years ago but nobody seems to care. What ever... in this panel you can set the scale of import/ export.
