Actually, that seems wrong, shouldn´t it bee, you need dark in order to differentiate between light and dark..not actually show the light, when light or white is shown it is light or white and that without implementing any dark, and the opposite the same:)

Well I "marked" that day's sheet in my desk calendar, but wound up accidentally "marking" a couple of the surrounding days' sheets as well, along with my desk blotter, and a bit of the rug by my desk. Beer'll do that.

In any case, not quite sure why it was needed, but consider the day "marked". ;D

Come on Oliver ... it's 26th here already down in Aus.
Next time you drop the mike you need to provide a local time converter to go with :D

Photon - electrical neutral particle. By layman called 'light'.

Black material - absorbs photons at visible range (400nm .... 700nm wavelength), which causes increase of energy of object, which can be detected as increase of temperature of object, and object is emitting photons using black body radiation formula. Typically in infrared range of spectrum (because it's not hot enough).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-body_radiation

White material - reflects photons at visible range. Point at it red light, it'll reflect red light, point at it green light, it'll reflect green light, point at it blue light, reflect blue light.

Without material object, near to you, you won't be able to see any photons,
even flying near your nose, they will simply fly undetected (not reflected by matter, toward your eye/camera).

And now for something completely different:

So you need materials, matter, models for the light to interact. Could be see a long awaited release of modeling improvements? That is where I would go with the catchphrase but perhaps something less hoped for but just as useful?? So this is the date is it not?
