THE IRIDESCENCE EFFECT...lighwave 2018
Any of you guys who knows wether or not if itīs possible to tweak the principle BSDF material to get the Iridescence effect?...
Just as we can get with the carpaint material, or do we have to enter nodes and use material mixer with carpaint and principled materials fed in two the two mixed inputs, that works of course..and may be the way to go, but just wondering if principled BSDF could do that with itīs own settings?

Should look something like this...

Really would be interested in hearing an answer to this, as seems kind of painful to set up material mixer with carpaint every single time we want iridescence in a material. There should be a shader or ilk that enables iridescent effect within pbsdf, conductor, etc. themselves.

Agreed, the other simplest workflow, make sure you make it once, and not twice..add it as a preset and remember where to find it :)

I question how well the material mixer-based iridescence approach will actually work for other material types. Dielectric, in particular, seems like it'll be a problem, because you really want the iridescence to modify the dielectric's specular (why specular layering work esp. well for such situations). Guess I need to experiment a bit.
